The 19-day Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes Trek takes you to the foot of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest from the less traversed side of the tranquil Gokyo Lakes by crossing the thrilling Cho La Pass at an altitude of 5420 meters from sea level. The trek offers a beautiful opportunity to experience the richness of two routes in the same region. The stunning mountain scenery, glaciers, high-altitude lakes, Buddhist monasteries, mani walls, beautiful settlements, rich culture and tradition, and diverse flora and fauna make this trek exceptional. Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1350 M) and transfer to hotel
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead in the heart of the Himalayas.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation
Spend the day sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. You’ll also finalize your trek preparations.

Day 03: Drive to Manthali, fly to Lukla (2840 M) & trek to Phakding (2652 M)
After a scenic drive to Manthali, take a flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Begin your trek to Phakding, a peaceful village along the Dudh Kosi River.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 M)
Trek towards Namche Bazaar, a vibrant Sherpa town. The trail offers stunning views as you climb gradually through the lush forests and cross several suspension bridges.

Day 05: Acclimatization day and explore around Namche Bazaar
Spend the day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize to the altitude. You can explore the town, visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, or hike to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Day 06: Trek to Dole (4200 M)
From Namche, trek towards Dole, a small village nestled among the mountains. Enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding peaks and alpine landscapes.

Day 07: Trek to Machhermo (4410 M)
Continue your ascent to Machhermo, passing through forests and valleys. The trek provides fantastic views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks as you climb higher into the Khumbu region.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4790 M)
Trek to Gokyo, a stunning village located beside the Gokyo Lakes. The path offers breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, with the turquoise lakes enhancing the beauty of the surroundings.

Day 09: Explore around Gokyo and hike to Gokyo Ri (5360 M)
In the morning, hike up to Gokyo Ri for unparalleled views of the Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Lhotse peaks. Spend the rest of the day exploring the Gokyo lakes or resting.

Day 10: Trek to Thangna (4765 M)
After exploring Gokyo, trek to Thangna, located at the foot of Cho La Pass. This small village offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 11: Trek to Dzongla via Cho La Pass (5420 M)
Cross the challenging Cho La Pass, one of the highest passes in the Everest region, standing at 5420 meters. Afterward, descend to Dzongla, a small settlement surrounded by spectacular mountain views.

Day 12: Trek to Gorak Shep (5140 M) with a side trip to Everest Base Camp (5365 M)
Trek towards Gorak Shep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. From there, take a side trip to Everest Base Camp (5365 M) for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, standing at the base of the world’s highest mountain.

Day 13: Early Morning hike to Kala Patthar viewpoint (5545 M) and trek to Dingboche (4410 M)
In the early morning, hike to Kala Patthar for one of the best panoramic views of Mount Everest. Afterward, descend to Dingboche, a scenic village nestled in the Khumbu Valley.

Day 14: Trek to Tengboche (3870 M)
Trek from Dingboche to Tengboche, passing through beautiful rhododendron forests and offering views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Tengboche is home to a famous Buddhist monastery, making it a serene stop on your trek.

Day 15: Trek to Monjo (2835 M)
From Tengboche, trek down through forests and Sherpa villages, finally reaching Monjo, a small village with peaceful surroundings and a perfect place to relax after a long trek.

Day 16: Trek to Lukla (2800 M)
Trek back to Lukla, retracing your steps through the forests and across suspension bridges. Enjoy your last views of the mountains as you make your way to Lukla, where you will rest for the night.

Day 17: Fly to Manthali and drive to Kathmandu (1350 M)
Fly from Lukla to Manthali and then drive back to Kathmandu. Relax and enjoy your final evening in the capital, reflecting on your incredible adventure.

Day 18: Extra day in case of flight cancellation due to bad weather
This day is reserved for potential flight delays due to the unpredictable weather conditions in the mountain region. It’s important to have flexibility in your itinerary.

Day 19: Final departure
After an unforgettable trek, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
