Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, also known as Ghorepani Poon Hill Sunrise Trek or Poon Hill Trek is a classic short trek in Nepal. It is one of the most famous treks in Nepal because of the beautiful mountain sceneries, landscapes, and culture it provides in a week. This relatively easy trek is suitable for trekkers of all ages and especially for those wishing to glimpse Nepal in a short duration. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek lies in the lower Annapurna region and the highest point of the trek, Poon Hill does not exceed more than 3210 meters of altitude from sea level. Despite being at a lower altitude, the experience one gets during this trek is no less than the other high-altitude treks of the Annapurna region. The views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, II, III, Annapurna South, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Tukuche, and Machhapuchhre (sacred/holy mountain) from Poon Hill during the sunrise is mesmerizing. Witnessing the rays of the morning sun slowly dance with the snowcapped peaks is truly an art of nature and a blessing to the eyes. The trek passes through the typical villages of the Gurungs & Magars where you can experience their rich culture and tradition. Trekkers can observe the beautifully crafted homes accompanied by beautiful terraced farmlands. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is also well known for its beautiful rhododendron and pine forest along the trail. The smell of the trees and the chirping of the birds while passing through the forest-covered trails is alluring and enchanting. In the spring season, you can witness the hills covered by colorful rhododendron trees with the majestic snowcapped mountains in the background which is one of the best parts of this short beautiful trek. Our 11-day Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Itinerary starts from Kande and ends at Nayapul. However, there are a couple of places from where you can start the trek.
